A huge step for mankind

One of my New Years resolutions is that I shoudn't just roll my eyes at injustice (...)being done to me. I need to be better at standing up for myself and let people know I won't take their shit. So far this has been a great success. Today I got confirmed that my huge dispute with my gym had come to a resolution and that the long long fight that my friend and I had fought had proven to give results. It was a small victory, but such a great feeling! It will be exciting to see if I can keep this fighting spirit up... Just watch me roll.

So...

I'm thinking about starting to blog again.

Nr. 9 I heart my Book club

I love my book club. I don't necessarily love reading, it's more the companionship and the good vibes at the meetings. We all respect the rules and follow them to the point. Mainly that means we all have to read the book before the meeting, discuss the book before we discuss any other subject and make nice comments about the food beeing served. There is of course room for critical remarks, but only regarding the book...!

On page 39 going on 40,

Nr. 8 You bring sunshine to my heart

I love summer. And with that I don't mean the traditional summers where I live where it's mostly cloudy with a high risk of showers and just occational blue skye and some very appreciated drops of sunshine. No, I mean the kind of summer where sweaters and long pants are a rediculous thought and the heat is almost sickening to the point where you are left with no other alternatives than spend the days laying on a plastic matress (that matches your bikini) by the sea. Ahh...just the thought brings a happy smile to my face. I guess there's no point in telling you that now that we have reached May, and it's still snowing...I'm not at a particulary happy place. But I'll get there...eventually.

Lots of sunshine,
E

Nr. 7 No view, disgusting carpeting and crappy neighbours included

My boyfriend and I are househunting. It's exciting times and we enjoy the hunt, but as usual I have mixed feelings about this. I'm hoping to find a wonderful house at a great location just perfect for our little family. At the same time I'm scared we'll end up beeing lured out to the suburbs to a house full of mold and with a pair of crappy neighbours.

I've found that making fun of the house-adds is a good way to make time pass while waiting for my dream home to come true. And believe me, there are lots to make fun of. There are just so many interesting and creative ways to hang up curtains out there. Some people obviously feel that children's bedrooms are supposed to look messy, and there is no use in covering it up. And some people find it very natural to hang a womans purse on the wall next to their dining room table...!

Here's to inspiring interior decorating,

Nr. 6 I, me and my pc

I love my computer. I'm addicted to my computer. It's not like I bring it with me all the time, but hardly a day goes by without me logging on, checking the latest news on facebook (maybe poke a little), catch up on the latest news around the world and check out the latest celebrity dirt. I have no idea how I managed to get through the day in a happy joyful way before, when I didn't have this wonderful friend to entertain me. It's of course also a very practical friend to have in cases of intense information gathering. Like now, when I'm house hunting with my boyfriend, it's all available for me on my wonderful pc. It's like fun, useful and joyfull all at once.

Big props to Mom and Dad for giving me this wonderful gift.

Nr. 5 One piece of shit

Make no mistake, I do not love the new fashion-statement the "one piece". But in the list of things that makes my life a bit better, we have come to "funny everyday stuff". Yes, very general, I know, but it's still a very important part of my happiness. And making fun of people wearing one pieces or crocks or other lame fashion statements brings me great joy. I know this may not be my most sympathetic quality, but nevertheless it' s part of who I am and what puts a big smile on my face. And I don't feel that it's mean spirited, it's certainly not meant that way, I just find it amusing walking past a family of five, all in colorful crocks, seeing a guy at the store wearing a bike helmet inside, just because he couldn't be bothered to take it off....or perhaps he's scared someone will knock him over while he's busy selecting his favorite tea?

Two very enthusiastic thumbs up for everyday trivia,

Love,
E

Nr. 4. War, what is it good for?

I know a pretty cool kid. He is very social and he loves to play war - hence the pic.(that's not him in the picture though...!) He also has a pretty cool Dad and I suspect that's where he get's his coolness from. He has a great imagination and a little weird but good sence of humour. He has compared me to his mother... Britney Spears (from the good period) and a local player from our local soccer team (yes, it's a guy) - so he's pretty good with compliments too :)

So this days blog dedication goes out to my favourite kid:

CRASH... BOOM.. BANG...

Nr. 3 I love the smell of fresh popcorn in the morning

I love, love, love going to the movies. I love the smell of popcorn (and the taste) and an ice cold coke to go with it. I love to leave all my every-day-worries behind and get lost in another world. And lucky me, I've found a boy who loves to go to the movie with me. My friends tease me about the numerous cinema-visits, but I know they are just jealous. The only downside that I can see with our many visits to the movies, is that I do watch a lot of not so good movies, whereas before I mostly saw movies that I really, really wanted to see. Of course I also have to compromise with my boyfriend and see movies that I wouldn't see if I had gone by myself. And this year I have had my worst movie experience ever. The movie made me slightly depressed, moody, mad and sick to my stomack. Whatever you do, do not watch: The Road

Nr. 2 "We have a fantastic system; he pays for everything"

I know what you're thinking so don't even bother rolling your eyes at me. I'm not one for keeping up apparences. I show my true colours and highlight them for everyone to see no matter how embarasssing they are - if you don't laugh of yourself, then who will? So, on my list of things I appreciate in my life, I give you " trash tv". And with that I mean mostly reality shows of meaningless people doing meaningless things. I could have said tv in general, but there is just something with trash tv that lures me in and entertains me. On my top list is: The Hills, Newlyweds and Paradise Hotel. But my all-time favourite as of today is the Swedish hollywood wifes. That show is just a paradise for peoples who appreciates quotes and parodies. Those guys really bring sunshine into my life.

Props up to Maria and the rest of the girls.

Nr.1 The real thing

If I could only have one item of drink or food for the rest of my life (without water) my choice would have to be coka cola. I don't know why (apart from that stuff they put in that makes you an addict) I just love it. Friday afternoon, home from work, slouching on the sofa in front of the tv with an ice cold coke -that's just darn tootin wonderful. So there you have it, one of the things I enjoy in life is coka.

New Years resolutions and then some

Yes, as you may have noticed one of my New Year's resolutions are hanging in a thin thread...if that is even a saying. My number of blogs so far this year has been slim to none. But rest assure, I am not yet defeated. To top the resolution, I have decided to focus on all the wonderful, positive things in my life right now and will share some of these with you...I'll try as many as ten, one for each day...but we'll see how it goes.

Strong in spirit, mind and soul,

New Year - new mistakes...or?

A new year has begun and with that comes the inevitable hopes for change. I have been able to keep some new years resolutions in the past, but I'm not totally convinced that anything will change in the New Year. Nevertheless I have decided on some resolutions, and I have decided to keep them "up-beat" and borderline fun filled.

1.Drink more (this includes drinking more water and also trying out different types of white wine to increase my list of "preferable wines" to contain more than two.

2. Increase my blogging. For obvious reasons.

3. Invite friends over for dinner. ( yes, same as last year, but since I failed miserably, I'll have to keep trying)

Wish me luck!

I dedicate this blog to my colleague Knut. When asked if he had any new years resolutions, he looked back at me with a confused but confident look and said "what's to change?"

Superersize me!

Yesterday my "worst fear" became reality. After months and months of tremendous pressure, one of my favourite jeans finally caved. The the button popped out of it's place... and landed on the floor with a tingeling leaving me alone with the shame and the final evidence that THIS is it, this has gone TO FAR! Pants after pants has been put aside because they are ot tight for my no-longer-slim figure and now the emergency-pants are giving in too! The fact that my boyfriend was a witness to the insident doesen't make the shame easier to bear. He kept up the fasade with a perfect pokerface, but I know that on the inside- he turned away in disgust

I should never have skipped yesterdays work-out!

Barcelona weather forecast....crap!

I have a lot of clothes. I do! But does that mean I have anything to wear? Sertainly not. So to fix that, I just keep buying more. This of course, has some side-effects; bad economy, no saving for tough times and lots more, but today I realized that the biggest problem is not enough room. My dresser has given me some hints for a long time, but today it had had enough- it totally broke down. Not the best timing, I'm off to to Barcelona in just a few hours and a wardrobe emergancy is the last thing I need. With some fixing and trixing I was able to convince my drawer to pull together and give it one last efford. Now the question is, will this keep me from shopping while I'm i Barcelona?? hehe keep an eye on my blog and you'll get your answer in about nine days.

I'm in a tapas state of mind

I have two more days left before I officially kick off the summer holiday of 2009 and I can hardly wait. My summer looks like this: Barcelona - Tønsberg - Bergen and it's gonna be great! I have realized that this time of year is the greatest off all. You only have a couple of days left, summer has officially arrived in your hometown and a great holiday are just hours away. To make sure my faithful followers also acheive this wonderful summer-state I'm currently in, I bring you this cute summer photo ( as most of my photos, found by google - big ups to you guys) and hereby officially kick off the summer!
